The Beauty of the Umpqua Rivers are hard to beat. Besides the reputation of the North Umpqua River as a world class fly-fishing river, there are many opportunities for boaters, swimmers, and fisher people to enjoy these waterways. Yet by some mysterious force there are no restaurants along the banks to relax and enjoy the sights.
It has been the wineries that have taken the lead in offering the public access to the Rivers for there pleasure. Currently, there are three wineries that have decks on each of our three Rivers. Pyrenees Vineyard owns two of them, on both the South Umpqua and Main Umpqua Rivers. The most recent is Glaser Vineyard on the North Umpqua. All are great picnic spots, where you can take in the views while sipping their wines.
Now is the perfect time to get out and take advantage of the only public access for a lazy afternoon of food and wine.
