Yea! Yesterday was one of those "Pay-Off" days; for all the rainy chilly days. And what perfect timing. It was also "Barrel Tour"day here in the Umpqua Valley. While not Diane and my idea of wine tasting, the event was nonetheless a great success. We helped out at Becker Vineyard and had a marvious time pouring wine and talking to the tasters.
The day was simply gorgeous, starting out cloudy and chilly, it ended with the staff on the toasty sunny deck finally having our own tasting! This is what it's all about. Good friends, great wine, and the Sun.
Another sure sign of Spring is the return of the Osprey! With the Umpqua River near at hand these fish-eating Raptors are a familiar sight along the River. The power company has provided many nesting platforms for the birds. It's a marvelous sight to see the huge birds, with a wing-span of up to six feet, take off from the nest.
We love it here!
