And the Beat goes on...

Oh the painful duty of wine research! Here we are at the new tasting room for Becker Vineyards. This winery will be featured on our wine tours starting June 7th.

Becker is the quintessence of the family owed winery. Honestly, it is everything I look for in my wine experience. Charlie and Peggy Becker are the nicest people who just happen to make great wine! And there it is: People make wine. To me this is the fantastic part of wine. A grape's a grape, but add passion and hard work and you have, in Galileo's words, "sunlight, held together by water."

Update on the cold weather of weeks past. Seems the Mother is playing catch up with blazing hot temps this last weekend. Short of the story is that the vines are back on track. Aren't they amazing?

Yea for May!

Seems we are three weeks behind on Spring here in the Umpqua Valley! Talked to Scott Henry yesterday and he informs me that while there was no damage to the vines from the recent cold snap, the "little soldiers" are three weeks back. He thinks they'll catch up if the cold stuff is history.

In the meantime, the wine industry is gearing up for a great season. New wineries are opening and of course, my wine tours are set to begin on June 7th. Don't be left behind, reserve your spot today. Reserve.

Got to get going...lots to do now that we have more than a day of sun in a row! Bought some vegies to throw in the garden. And there's the deck that needs painting. Wax the car. Well, you know! Hard work then great wine!!
