Country Club vs. Wine Clubs

My experience with Country Clubs was that the grass is very plush on bare feet. In high school I would practice cross-country running on the local golf course in my bare feet. Now I bike!

I have a lot more experience with Wine Clubs, though. Having signed up hundreds of new club members I relized how important clubs are to wineries and to the members.

Besides getting your wine at a discount, most clubs offer special amenities for their members. Stephen Reustle (photo) at Prayer Rock Vineyards explains to our tour group how the progress on their wine cave and tasting room is coming along. Soon club members will be able to picnic on top of the cave with spectacular views of the vineyards, as well as, huddle into a private niche inside the cave for the latest release.

This is the extreme example here in the Umpqua Valley, yet other clubs set the standard for relaxing and intimate events. Marshanne Landing puts together a fabulous music lineup at their Oakland winery. The more people that sign up the more the wineries are encouraged to offer events.

So if you find yourself a bit short for that country club membership, why not have some fun with a wine club membership or two!!
